I had both hips replaced in separate housing. My physical therapy was started when I was in the hospital, starting with walking, learning to negotiate the stairs, exercises in bed, etc., followed, when I go home with 2-3 visits per week physiotherapist. They are taken 2 weeks after I was about to begin outpatient treatment. The other lasted 5 weeks, 2-3 times per week. I practice daily at home as well and lasted for several months after the end of treatment. I was really in bad shape after years of arthritis, so I had to build a crowd.

It is for your doctor to therapy. Have not you done yet? Otherwise, ask.

Also, be aware that there are surgeons who do not prescribe physical therapy after hip replacements. Yours may be one of them. The only way we know is to ask him.
